Yoko

Dear Boys and Girls,

This week we are talking about characters in stories. One of my favorite characters is Yoko, created by Rosemary Wells. We are introduced to her in the book Yoko where she feels very sad when her classmates make fun of her lunch. Think about how Yoko feels and how a new friend makes her feel better while you listen to the story.

Digital Center Directions

Hi Everyone,

If you'd like to access the digital centers here are the directions. There is also a video that shows the steps. You can access it by clicking on the word "Directions" under the Digital Centers heading on the side bar.

   1. Choose a month and click on it. You can use the centers in earlier months for review.
   2. Choose math or ELA
   3. Click on the PowerPoint with the recording sheets.
   4. Download and print the recording sheets. If you do not have a printer, a plain piece of  paper or a white board will be fine.
    5. Open the center your child wants to work on and begin!

Some of the activities are more difficult and not included in our kindergarten curriculum. If your child tries something too easy or too hard, just have them skip it. All activities are voluntary.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Stay well,

Materials Exploration

Dear Friends,

We have been learning all about the materials that are used to make things in our world. We've talked about wood, paper, and fabric. We discussed how materials can be changed to serve different purposes, too. Yesterday we went outside to explore one way to change the shape of wood. Sandpaper! In the next part of our Materials and Motion unit we are going to learn about how things move.
